Plethos 2.0 | The Interactive Hundred Square

Plethos is the advanced interactive numeracy teaching tool designed by teachers for teachers.  Centred on the concept of the traditional plastic hundred square – Plethos expands on this everyday pragmatic tool to provide a holistic modern day educational resource for improving the quality of mathematics teaching.

The tactile interface of the basic grid provides the freedom of exploration required for an excellent understanding of number.   Combined with the flexible grid sharing system, eliminating the need for umpteen plastic hundred squares, schools are able to utilise the supplied grid arrangements or create their own specific arrays.  Whether the teacher chooses to demonstrate with merely one or all one-hundred tiles, Plethos ensures that examples are fun, powerful and easy.

Negatives, decimals, multiples, random numbers, factors and even triangular numbers are a few of the sequences that can be investigated using any grid arrangements and accessed quickly, without leaving the interactive whiteboard.  Through Plethos, place value relationships or the correlation between prime numbers and multiples of six are but some of the possible patterns waiting to be probed by enquiring young minds.

A differentiated interface provides access to the necessary functions from early development using touch and talk; through to intermediate awareness of words-n-figures or advanced understanding of formulas.  These are simply several of the wealth of additional functions that allow schools to maximise the potential of every individual student and support their learning of multiple numeracy objectives.

Beside the grid arrangements and sequences, Plethos’ ability to partition tile values on an abacus; as HTU cards or in various forms of counter could provide that ‘little’ extra needed to help a student grasp a concept.  While the symbols facility, timer or unique dice help keep lessons interesting and engaging.

With the inclusive bank of lesson plans; access to training, additional grids and ideas online; unlimited support and an outstanding educational site - why not have your school try Plethos today.

Version 2.0 sports a new light blue interface in borderless windows with new zany graphics and a host of features to make Plethos easier to use and more practical for great maths lessons.  Drag-n-swap prevents lost tiles and allows students to quickly arrange cells in a grid whilst the quick size grids provide rapid access to arrays from 1x1 to 10x10.   The new dingbats ensure that students, of all ages, take notice of the concepts taught.   The cell editor means that cardinal values can be replaced with characters of choice or whole grid formatting applied in real-time with units from centimetres to pounds and this integrated with synthetic speech technology to say what you see. Most save grids use live swapping and new PEGs have been added including updated versions of the HTU, Tables and Countdown squares.  The A - Z QSG (Quick Start Guide) is now the default help manual and provides a complete overview of all features and the new interface.  What's more, our educational site licence remains outstanding value.
